toppiness predominance of high frequencies Explanation: I assume the reason the author says 'teel-tale toppiness' is because s/he is saying that these cymbals are made of a supposedly inferior material (brass), and this fact is often given away by the presence of over-dominant high-frequencies in the cymbal sound — I assume perhaps because brass is maybe less dense than bronze? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2012-03-25 06:26:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, 'tell-tale toppiness'! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2012-03-25 06:27:01 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I.e. even though these cymbals are made of brass, they do not suffer from this problem of over-dominant high frequencies. |
