IRM 902 and IRM 903 Replacements for ASTM no. 2 and ASTM no. 3 Oils The inventory of these two oils was exhausted during 1993. The manufacture of the subject oils was discontinued at the end of 1990. United States OSHA regulations require labelling of these oils as suspect carcinogens which discourages commercial production. Oil IRM 903 (ASTM Oil No. 3) is an aromatatic oil. Oil Deterioration, per ASTM D 471: 71 percent volume increase after immersion in ASTM Oil 3 for 70 hours at 212 degrees F (100 degrees C). |
