Many thanks – it seems that if we look at the actual Persian, it must be referring to trying something (again) which we have had bad experiences with.
Supposing I know from experience that a particular curry house is excellent. In that case, trying it yet again will give good results: a pleasant meal etc.
But if I know from experience that a particular curry house is bad, then it is truly a mistake (خطاس) to try it again as I may make myself ill!
