He is not a tight-lipped guy ... Explanation: معنای اصطلاحی این دو واژه یعنی poker-faced و tight-lipped هر دو یکی هستند و معنی و مفهوم شخصی را می رسانند که به قول خودمان دهانش قرص است و چیزی را بروز نمی دهد. این در حالی است که واژه ی poker-faced یعنی کسی که حالات چهره و روحیاتش باعث می شود که ما نفهمیم وی الان در چه وضعیت روحی است و یا دارد به چه فکر می کند و به قولی آنقدر خونسرد است که ما متوجه حالات و روحیات او نمی شویم، اما واژه ی tight-lipped همان منظور را می رساند و مفهومش این است که فرد سخن نمی گوید و چیزی را بروز نمی دهد اما از روی حالات چهره و بداخلاقی اش هر کسی می تواند متوجه شود که وی در حالت روحی خوبی نیست -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2015-09-07 05:53:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.isamit.com/learn.english.idioms |
