5 +9 | using the density of the adjacent building |

using the density of the adjacent building Explanation: the density here refers to the population density, that is the number of neighbors in the building -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 46 mins (2009-02-05 04:30:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- depending on the context of the whole text, you could also use "congestion" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day12 hrs (2009-02-06 16:30:57 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I would like to add a note to this...I have been translating the section on "نوع تراکم" in the link provided by Rahi Moosavi. Very interesting. In the cases where it it is describing some kind of measurement, such as people/hectare, it would be better to use "density". In cases where the discussion is describing "too much" of something, "congestion" may be better. Density is completely neutral, used as a scientific term. Congestion is negative, implying too much of something, which prevents normal functioning. High density by itself does not mean congestion. |
