Finnish term or phrase: pumpun imulähtö on tehtävä letkulla
"Säiliön kannelle asennetun pumpun imulähtö on tehtävä letkulla tai teräsputkella jolloin säiliön läpiviennissä on käytettävä joustavaa ja vesitiivistä läpivientielementtiä."

=
"The suction[lähtö] of the pump installed on the lid of the reservoir should be [made? done? etc.?] with a hose or steel pipe, in which case flexible and watertight [läpivienti] element should be used in the [läpivienti] of the reservoir"

This passage is opaque to me because I can't picture what "imulähtö" and "läpivienti" are referring to, much less translate these terms.

Thanks

The answer is not *only* "hose" because I didn't just ask about the word "letku".

Asker: I'm sorry for the wording of my comment. As soon as I posted it, I wanted to change the way I phrased it but Proz doesn't let me do so.
