Finnish term or phrase: määräys (Finnish law)
What would you say is the standard Anglicization of "määräys", as specifically used in Finnish law (where it contrasts with "laki", "asetus", etc.)?

Up to now, I've generally translated it "ordinance".

However, "regulation" also seems to be a common (perhaps dominant) option in English translations, even though that seems (to me) looser and potentially more misleading than "ordinance".

Thanks
