It is interesting that this term (käsityökalu) seems not to appear in any dictionary or glossary.

I was just thinking why 'käsityökone' doesn't appear in any dictionary. The reason apparently is that we used to have terms 'sähkötyökalut' (handheld electric power tools) and 'paineilmatyökalut' (handheld pneumatic power tools). This newer term 'käsityökone' is obviously formed as an equivalent for eng. 'handheld power tool'.
