4 +2 | posterior cranial fossa set |

posterior cranial fossa set Explanation: Ok, so takakuoppa=posterior cranial fossa is just according to the first link and then poking around on Google (see Wikipedia article...). For the "set", I'm drawing on all of the medical device proofreading I do. From your context, it sounds like this is describing a set of disposables. It could also be "kit". The other literal translation is obviously "series", but that seems unlikely given the sample sentence...you will obviously know more since you're seeing the larger context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2008-09-13 16:49:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- So based on Anu's comment, "posterior cranial fossa series" is seeming best. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day10 hrs (2008-09-14 23:38:27 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Not knowing what technology is in question, I'm left to guessing. I'm pretty certain this is about x-ray though and that any radiologist would know exactly what this was... An x-ray machine has a vacuum tube that is part of the radiation production: http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Röntgensäteily. So this could be about the curve of the tube emissions being flat across some range...that's a stretch here though. There are also x-ray guide tubes (xgt) (I think this is the same thing as a "wave guide") that has something to do with focusing the x-rays. This link uses the phrase "straight tube": http://www.moh.gov.bh/RadiologyServices/PDF/RadiographicTech... , although it isn't entirely clear what it means. After poking around a bunch, I'm pretty sure that your sentence should be something like "which do not show up nearly as clearly in a posterior cranial fossa [image] series taken with a straight [guide] tube". The "kuvaudu" is a bit awkward too...maybe phrase it as something to do with the sharpness of the image... "Putki" can also just refer to a camera lens, so this could be some sort of imaging lens or sensor. Check out this link: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5218463.html. Fruitful searches in Google for me included "x-ray guide tube" "x-ray straight tube" "x-ray straight wave guide" Throw in radiography instead of x-ray too... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day10 hrs (2008-09-14 23:39:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "...which *does* not show up... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 days (2008-09-24 15:26:17 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- This is a very late note--I had a nurse friend of mine talk to some radiology techs. They couldn't figure out what this could mean other than that a "straight tube" might refer to an MRI machine itself (which is a tube-like structure), differentiating it from CT (more donut-like) and normal X-ray machines. Unless this is something experimental, as many of the links above were for... Reference: http://www.terveysportti.fi/pls/rex/metatesaurus.termi?p_sfu... |
