Pagetin taudin histologinen diagnoosi on sikäli yllättävä, että **natiivikuvissa** ei ole todettu tälle taudille sopivia muutoksia ....

Kiitos.

Explanation:
native images that you get from an imaging device scan

E.g. "After subtracting the native images from the contrast-enhanced ones, only structures supplied with contrast agent remain. This technique yields much better results for compound images than for conventional ultrasound images because speckle noise and an anisotropic resolution affect the latter. "

I could add hundreds of examples for this from the internet (or even from several manufacturers' imaging device manuals from my own hard drive), since "native image" is The most commonly used term for this.

Can't think of any reason to limit or narrow down the translation.

disagree  Alfa Trans (X): the word 'X-ray' is necessary in English. 'Natiivikuva' refers to 'natiiviröntgenkuva'.

I insist on using X-ray, it is the most common way at least in the metropolitan region in Finland, ie they are digital X-rays, not scanned X-rays.

I was just going to suggest simply 'native X-ray' as an alternative (lots of hits on the google in connection with Paget's disease), but then I found 'plain X-ray' when I googled my first answer:
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/finnish_to_english/medical_general...
So that is my final suggestion.

So please google natiiviröntgenkuva and you'll see the correct answer there: plain X-ray.

Sorry, please google natiiviröntgenkuva + plain X-ray and you'll see that it is the correct answer.

neutral  Susan Ruusunen: They don't always use X-ray for scanning these, there are various methods, hence would avoid using the defining term 'X-ray' in this case.

agree  railuska: This is probably the "standard" form. I don't think there's any reason to avoid using the word X-ray, it's not going to be echography or MRI, and as to CT, the Finnish phrase would be quite an unlikely expression in my opinion.
