neutral  Paul Peeraerts: "Beroepsschool" in België is een school waar je een handarbeid leert, bijv. elektricien, bakker ... Het diploma geeft ook toegang tot het hoger onderwijs, maar dat is m.i. niet de essentie. .

  -> I based my answer on the fact that Middelsex University accepts the diploma as qualification for admission to the university. I know that a beroepsschool is more for technical training-but maybe it's 'technique de transition'-which is good for university.

Explanation:
Iets wat na de middelbare school (secondary education) komt heet meestal postsecondary.

In Noord-Amerika heb je het 'Community College', waar je allerlei beroepen kunt leren en vanwaar je inderdaad toegang kunt krijgen tot bepaalde universiteitsopleidingen. Soms heet het 'XXX Institute of Technology', wat vele beroepen inhoudt, niet alleen technologische.

Misschien kun je het het beste in het Nederlands laten staan en de omschrijving er tussen haakjes bij zetten.
