Intuitief zeg ik de eerste mogelijkheid. Een ether maak je (o.a.) erg makkelijk uit een alcoholfunctie. Het is dan ook vreemd dat de alcohol nog genoemd wordt. Het zou wel eens kunnen zijn dat deze tekst 7x verhaspeld is door amateurs nadat het origineel door chemici is opgeschreven...
