French term or phrase: toute la différence est là
This expression is in a document i'm translating about building and furniture hinges! These hinges are apparently unique and copyrighted because they are adjustable.
This expression comes shortly after the following phrase 'The first range of adjustable hinges in the world also adjustable in height' TOUTE LA DIFFéRENCE EST Là ...
Perhaps i'm tired but i can't for the life of me find an equivalent expression in English! HELP!

English translation:a feature that makes them truly unique
Explanation:
Call me crazy, but I'd get totally away from the whole "difference" thing and use something along the lines of:
"The first range of adjustable hinges in the world that are also adjustable in height, a feature that makes them truly unique"

toute la diffèrence est là
THIS/IT makes all the difference

Explanation:

"When I first got into the whole “systematic productivity” thing, I did a ton of reading on the subject. One of the things I kept coming across was people discussing which notebook and which pen they used in their own systems. I would read these, all holier-than-thou, and think something to the effect of, “a pen is a pen. Is a pen. Is a pen. Who cares?”

I was WRONG. Over the last few years, and particularly in the last few months, I’ve started to realize that the particular pen you use, or any given tool, really does make all the difference, and has a huge effect on how you feel about what you’re doing, and how well it gets done."

Although for once the EN is longer than the FR, I can't help thinking this version might read more smoothly in the marketing register here.

this is what sets the hinges apart

Explanation:
If your document is of a marketing/promotional nature, you may want something to emphasise that the hinges are different from (and better than) all others. " To set apart" does just that.
