French term or phrase: absolue
Hello

Often when my translation speaks of essential oils (HE in French), it is followed by the word "absolue")

Cahier des charges (spécifications) produits finis (HE, concrète, ***absolue***..)

What the heck does it mean here?

Thanks for any help

https://www.compagnie-des-sens.fr/quelques-definitions-aroma...
Une huile essentielle est le résultat d'une distillation à la vapeur d'eau d'une partie de la plante aromatique.
Une absolue est un concentré obtenu à partir de concrète ou de résinoïde.

On appelle concrète l'extraction des molécules odorantes d'une matière première végétale fraîche par solvants volatils.

(in English)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_(perfumery)
Used in perfumery and aromatherapy, absolutes are similar to essential oils. They are concentrated, highly aromatic, oily mixtures extracted from plants. Whereas essential oils are produced by distillation, boiling or pressing, absolutes are produced through solvent extraction, or more traditionally, through enfleurage.

-> It was rather obvious for a number of people! A bit surprising as it's very specialised terminology. Thanks!
