French term or phrase: limons francs
I'm translating a document about different soil types and there is a section discussing what it might mean if someone has "terre jaune" on their land. The response is as follows:

"Le plus souvent ce sont des limons argileux ou limons francs qui font partie du sol."

I believe "limons argileux" refers to "clay loam", according to a chart I found, but I'm struggling to figure out how "limons francs" should be translated. It seems to be a classification based on the soil type and the size of the particles, but I'm hoping someone might know the precise term.

This site ( https://www.google.com/search?q="limon franc" "limon fin"&oq... ) uses the same abbreviation (Lf) for "limon fin" (pages 129, 131 and 395) and "limon franc" (page 129). This would lend support to Akah's suggestion.
