CONTEXT: 44089. Pièce de chapiteau de manche de miroir. - Or, argent, quartz et pâtes d'incrustation. Elle représente une double tête d'Hâthor à oreilles de vache. [....] ***De la tête,*** encore garnie de son mastic, émerge, ***par en haut,*** un morceau de métal scorifié et complètement informe; c'est la tige du disque, enveloppée encore d'une substance très friable qui est aussi du mastic maculé par l'oxydation de la pièce de métal avec laquelle il était en contact. Du côté opposé, à la section du menton, on voit encore, engagé dans la douille, ici presque carrée, l'extrémité de la tige qui paraît être en argent et de chaque côté des débris ligneux qui sont les deux lamelles ou dents du tenon aménagé au sommet de la poignée, entre lesquelles venait s'engager la tige.

ATTEMPT: From the head, still filled with its mastic, emerges, from above/the top, a piece of metal corroded and totally shapeless;
ISSUE: Isn't this redundant.

Explanation:
No it's not redundant — it could easily emerge, for example, from the BACK of the head!

But it reads a lot more smoothly in EN if you get right away from the FR word order.
