Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / EEIG granting of authorities
French term or phrase: auprès de la Poste
In these minutes of a board meeting of this EEI Grouping, these are some of the unanimously agreed authorities being granted to one of the members....

Retirer au nom du groupement auprès de la Poste, de la douane, de toutes messageries, chemins de fer et entreprises de transport ou recevoir au siège de l’association ou à leur domicile, les lettres, caisses, paquets, colis, recommandés ou non, et ceux renfermant des valeurs déclarées et à cette fin signer toutes pièces et décharges ;

I need a good way describe "Poste" here, and I cannot figre out if both these items in the list are connected to "Retirer" equally, or does Poste qualify the first phrase in some other way?

from the postal service, customs, ...
Explanation:
French definitely prefers repeating the preposition, but I think in this case it would consider repeating the full complex preposition 'auprès de' a little too much.

I think 'customs' suffices alone, and I hope 'postal service' would work in any country.

agree  Kathleen Johnson: In the USA we would tend to say post office.

  -> I thought it was called the 'United States Postal Service'! But yes, 'post offices' would happily encompass all points where you could realistically withdraw items.

agree  Conor McAuley: EIG not EEIG (maybe a typo or an abbreviation fpr personal use?), powers or duties, not "authorities"

agree  Philippa Smith: I think "postal service" works well as it's nice and neutral.

agree  Tony M: Yes, 'postal service' is best, as universal, and also, avoids the danger of its sounding like one particular 'Post Office'

agree  SafeTex: Yes, as the preposition is governed by "retirer" (reception, receive, withdraw)

agree  AllegroTrans: postal service works best, since not all postal services nowadays are based around traditional post offices
