I beg to differ from my colleague above — there MAY be another, simpler possibility!

ECS can also mean Eau Chaude Sanitaire — the equivalent of 'Domestic Hot Water'

The 'ballon' MIGHT be just a storage tank, but VERY, VERY often, it is in fact a complete electric water-heater — what we in the UK would refer to rather imprecisely as an 'immersion heater'

No doubt your wider context will tell you whether the water is heated by solar power, electricity or what!

agree  prinjon: For use it is Eau chaude sanitaire...never solar in an acronym. I was a building verifier at design and execution stage, and I had in my hands hundreds of documents with this acronym meaning only this Sanitaire.Any other use is a mistake.
