Hi all, sorry for the delay and thanks very much for the help. As for context, I'm afraid it was just customer feedback - so no hope of precision!

I agree on the meaning of correspondence between different national/international standard frameworks, so I went for "standards compliance tables to be put in place for certain products". These tables are all that kept turning up when I googled "correspondance des normes", so...

but
-- the ONLY samples of how "correspondance des normes" [exactly that wording] is used in real life I could find are about matching norms from different standards organisation,

-- it makes sense if you do a grammatical analysis, "correspondance des normes" => between norms, not between a norm and something else
and
-- matching norms from different standards is a real problem / a very real need, in construction as much as in any other activity using imported products;

so unless this author was particularly sloppy or allowing itself poetic licence by the truckload, I see only one possible meaning.

Yes, more context would be very helpful. One problem is that one can never be sure if the author is wielding his pen with the precision of a surgeon's scalpel, or is simply being sloppy with words!

could avoid a possible mega-blunder:

it this product supposed to be used in several countries (very likely for most products ...) where different norms apply?

In which case it would be about finding local norms in one market "qui correspondent" to local norms applicable to this product in some other market!

The point of giving a full sentence is in avoiding this kind of traps, BTW.

It could also mean finding standards for say window frames that "correspond" with standards for say glass panes or rollers or shutters ... with no context to speak of, it's very easy to go off tangent.

Well, the frequency/samples of real-life use of "correspondance des normes" solved the problem ...

I read "correspondance" to mean that the standards applicable to these "produits" need to be met/satisfied.
