French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Reinforced and Prestresse
French term or phrase: intermédiaire
This is a grade transcript in engineering.

Résistance des matériaux test Préliminaire
Résistance des matériauxe * intermédiaire*
Résistance des matériaux finale
béton armé intermédiaire
béton armé finale
béton précontraint intermédiaire
béton précontraint finale

I initially translated this as:
Materials Resistance Preliminary test
Materials Resistance Mid-term exam
Materials Resistance Final exam

But "finale" ending with an "e" cannot stand for examen final (masculin)

Also I see there are "stages" or "phases" (final phase of Materials resistance) and as I am ignorant in the area of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, I am wondering if this does not have another meaning.

further more the other subjects in the column which were also graded do not have this indication ie
Structures mixtes
Mécanique des sols
Construction métallique
do not have the additional word "intermédiaire" and "finale"
This is not a typo, as the word finale is consistently in the feminine form.

I think it has a technical meaning.

I would greatly appreciate the help of the experts in this field.

Explanation:
It just refers to the level of the examination. I don't know why "finale" has an "e" on the end.

I think you'll find it's "strength" rather than "resistance":

Maybe they've mistakenly made "final" agree with "résistance" rather than "test".

I've only just seen the asker's previous question, about "finale". It looks like the feminine ending goes with "épreuve".
