Regarding 'consulaire', it's not really anything specifically to do with the FR educational system per se — it crops up in loads of areas, and as far as I can make out (empirically!) it is the rather curious term used to describe anything to do with the Chambre de Commerce et d'Indutsrie (CCI). So at least locally to me, their headquarters building is called the 'immeuble consulaire' So in common with other educational establishments, I'd guess that this means the CCI is a partner in running this place. In my local case, I work with a Centre de Formation d'Apprentis (CFA) which is a kind of further education college training specifically apprentices, and is jointly funded by the local CCI and also the Chambre des Métiers. (Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Trades). |
