Definitely one for Tony M if you're watching!

Apparently (according to Wikipédia) E and F are just letters in a list (i.e. they don't stand for something).

What's the best way to translate this into EN: "E/F plug/socket" or maybe something like "standard E/F plug/socket" or "domestic E/F plug/socket"?

Or maybe we drop the whole "E/F" thing as being too confusing for Anglo-Saxons from their remote lands? And maybe we identify it as "European": "standard European plug/socket"?

type E/F CEE socket
Explanation:
The exact way of wording it may be influenced by the surrounding text, which it would have been helfpul to give us.
Assuming the intended reader might not be in Europe, I think it is only meaningful if you add 'CEE', in which case, specifying it as a type E or F makes sense, is explicit, and should not be omitted.
As for 'prise', again, your wider context ought to make this clear, but normally a 'prise' is a socket, and usually fixed (to wall, or to equipment, etc.) — in some cases, it may be referred to as a 'chassis socket' (specifically, when mounte don a piece of equipment)
A 'fiche' is the cable-mounted connector 'plug' that mates with a 'prise'.
The confusion arises when you have a cable-mounted socket — e.g. on an extension lead — where people sometimes seem to have difficulty making up their minds! Also, although sockets are often female and plugs are often male, there are times when it is the other way round, and again, people can't always seem to decide!

(hybrid) socket type CEE 7/7

Explanation:
Most modern moulded Schuko plugs, and good-quality rewirable replacements, are a hybrid version ("CEE 7/7") with an aperture that accommodates the earth pin of CEE 7/5 sockets.
:
CEE 7/7 has now[clarification needed] become the de facto plug standard in many European countries, and in some other countries that follow CENELEC standards.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko

French standard NF C 61-314 defines the CEE 7/5 socket and CEE 7/6 plug, (and also includes CEE 7/7, 7/16 and 7/17 plugs). The socket has a circular recess with two round holes. The round earth pin projecting from the socket connects before the energized contacts touch. The earth pin is centred between the apertures, offset by 10 mm (0.394 in). The plug has two round pins measuring 4.8 by 19 mm (0.189 by 0.748 in), spaced 19 mm (0.748 in) apart and with an aperture for the socket's projecting earth pin.
:
CEE 7/7 plug (compatible with E and F)
Hybrid CEE 7/7 plug
The CEE 7/7 plug fits in either French or German sockets.
The CEE 7/7 plug has earthing contacts to connect to either the CEE 7/3 socket or the CEE 7/5 socket. It is polarised when used with a French CEE 7/5 socket, but can be inserted two ways into a CEE 7/3 socket. The plug is rated at 16 A. Appliances are sold with non-rewireable CEE 7/7 plugs attached. This plug can be inserted into a Danish Type K socket, but the earth contact will not connect.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power_plugs_and_sockets#CEE...

The CEE connector can accommodate both CEE 7/4 and 7/5 sockets, and therefore is commonly used throughout Europe. Hybrid CEE 7/7 connectors are commonly used on luminaires and dimmers in many parts or Europe. They are rated for 250 volts and up to 16 amps.
