It is possible to borrow a private jet (while for metro, bus, train and public highway, it is not an option), and in the sentence given above, it is not possible to know if she did borrow this plane or was only a passenger. It is only because I have read and heard that she allegedly travelled both times with the owner of the jet, Aziz Miled, that I can say that she did not borrow it. But if the owner had not been there, one could have said that she had borrowed it. With exactly the same words in French.

She did not 'borrow' it in the usual sense. She was just a guest. We can say 'emprunter le métro', and we do not really borrow it:

We even say 'emprunter la voie publique'.

It just means that she made use of it as a travelling vehicle.
