French term or phrase: momosexuels
"Non, ils sont pas momosexuels, es 2 Be Naz !"

This is said by one of the little girls in the game, defending her favourite group. I don't know what is meant by "momosexuel". All help appreciated. Thank you!

Explanation:
Just a bit of wordplay on homosexuals, to avoid using the word itself. I would leave it as is.

agree  Richard Benham: I agree. Same with "rectum" unless you can think of an alternative.

agree  Sandra Petch: I think you're right, just leave it...

agree  Emma Paulay: Yes, leave it. Titeuf can't say homosexuel. He always says momosexuel in the comics - so his friends in the game probably do too. It works OK in EN.

neutral  BusterK: the fact is it looks like the term does exist (Rachel's ref) so that it may be awkward if the author intended not to use an actual word...

-> Yes, the reference does seem convincing - I don't think a term exists in English (metro/homosexual in the closet?)

homosexuals

Explanation:
I can't see what else it would be... probably this is referring to some "metrosexual" boys band (2 Be 3 was one such band in France).

I would translate it as "gay."

Or words rhyming with gay to keep the wordplay but come to think of it you may as well keep the same "momo..." structure in English.

play on 'môme'

Explanation:
Just wanted to say it sounds like a play on 'môme' meaning kid or woman - was Edith Piaf's nickname.
