Can anyone translate bourrelet Est-Africain in English. Thank you

Sur le plan tectonique, cette région fait partie de la bordure Ouest du bourrelet Est- africain. Ce qui justifie la présence de plusieurs failles dans la région.

agree  B D Finch: It's not a matter of confidence in you personally, but of confidence in your answer. An explanation is needed (e.g. https://www.coursehero.com › University of Texas › GEOLOGY › GEOLOGY 401)

agree  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: Yes, a "bourrelet" is a bulge and ridge fits the technical bill.

Explanation:
"bourrelet est-africain" does not generate any hits, but the context suggests that they are talking about the East African Rift (EAR); see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_African_Rift

agree  philgoddard: I don't think this is wrong as such. As you say, it fits the context. Strictly speaking, the faults are caused by the rift, the plate boundary of which the ridge and the rift valley are symptoms.

neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: In ordinary contexts, "bourrelet" describes a bulge so this is specifically describing the "ridge".
