French to English translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Government / Politics / Conservation plan for a Quebec village
French term or phrase: Arm
The bibliography at the end of this conservation plan lists a map of the village in question, circa 1855, crediting "Archives des Messieurs de Saint-Sulpice, ***Arm*** no. 916."

Any idea what Arm means here? No doubt it can be left in French but I'm curious. Thx.

neutral  Yolanda Broad: Armagnac is in France, not Québec / Interesting fact. I'll have to look the place up next time I'm in the region. :-)

Armarium

Explanation:
Armarium or Ambry: cupboard or recess in churches that is used to store things, including books: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/armarium ; http://www.dictionary.com/browse/ambry .
Strange approach to finding this: searched for words starting with "arm" and autocomplete in french dict. until something stood out.

I don't know why I then went to an English dict. Anyway, 'armoire' is also plausible (the french translation of 'armarium'): https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armarium
