From a letter from the Ministry of Defense of France:

Under the heading “EXTRAIT DES SERVICES”, there is a table with a column headed “DETAIL DES
SERVICES”. The first row in that column says: Appelé à l’activité – services comptant
The second row says: Rayé des contrôles le
The next column over simpy gives the dates for each of these.

The target audience is US.

Creditable Service
Explanation:
The report is a listing of military service records (Extrait des Services), which includes service performed, periods of duty, and date of separation from service (Rayé des contrôles le). Creditable service is used to calculate eligibility for veteran's benefits, such as retirement pensions. Speaking as a 15 year military veteran.

I should add, this is apparently a table for a reserve unit, as "rayé des contrôles" means release from active duty after being called-up, as opposed to separation from active service, which would be "radié des cadres"

Regarding "rayé des contrôles": The service in question may or not be active duty, as reservists frequently participate in training activities. I would think "released from duty" would be adequate.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you very much for your suggestion, Otha. Do you think "discharged" is ok for "rayé des contrôles", or would "separation from active service" work better?

Asker: It looks like I can't delete my previous note. I see now you said "release from active duty" works better than "separation from service". I was going to use "discharged", but perhaps "release from active duty" works better?
