French term or phrase: Fonction du N+1
This appears as part of a job description. All I have as context is: "Fonction du N+1 :Directeur R&D Europe"

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Explanation:
In FR, 'N+1' indeed refers to their immediate superior.
That same mention is usually found as 'Reports to:' in EN job offers/descriptions.

"Reports To: Head of Contract Manufacturing Operations (CMO)"

"Reports to: General Manager & Directorate Personal Assistant"

Position of immediate superior

Explanation:
Mostly guessing that it works here, but this phrase is certainly in use.

agree  Gurudutt Kamath: I think the latest link you have provided seals it. So n+1 refers to hierarchy. In the limited context given, I am still confused about how I would translate -- though the meaning is now clear. Is it as simple as this job reports to the Director?

Immediate supervisor's position

Explanation:
Good morning,

"N+1" is commonly used in French (and can be found in Proz glossary) for "immediate supervisor", the person one (one being identified as "N"), refers to on a daily basis.
Here, we also have to identify the position (la fonction) of this N+1. Therefore my suggestion !

Have a nice day.
