This is at the top of a couple of salary statements, along with the address and family allocations information.

The whole entry reads:

"Comm. par: Industrie Chimique"

I don't know what "Comm." refers to if it is not "communication" or "commencement" - which it couldn't be as it wouldn't make sense.

Explanation:
I worked as HR Manager and the term commensurable, commensurate often appearing in salary descriptions.

However, I'm struggling with the "par" where I think should be "avec", but perhaps the local nature of the French may account for this.

disagree  Tony M: Not here, I'm absolutely sure David has it right, I've seen this before (written out in full) on BE pay advices. I don't think your suggestion would be very plausible in this specific context.
