French term or phrase: devoir de l'étoile
Un leader est quelqu'un :

Qui a une vision (devoir de l'étoile, devoir de l'éthique)
Qui la partage (devoir de l'éducation, devoir du travail en équipe)
...

I'm stuck with this "devoir de l'étoile" in a human relations/management document. Does it simply mean "a duty to provide leadership", in the sense that a star is at the core of its planets?

I've never seen the expression before and it doesn't seem to have a straightforward English translation.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Reference information:
This seems to be based on Jack Welch's management theories, but I don't think the translation is 'Star' in English, I suspect 'étoile' was used to respect the E, E, E formula.
