This refers to a case where a seconded employee invents something in the course of his or her duties for the host company.

Context:
"Les parties conviennent que lorsqu’une invention est éventuellement faite par un salarié mis à disposition dans le cadre de ses fonctions, la société d’origine accepte d’en céder la propriété à la société d’affectation à compter de sa réalisation.
Compte tenu du fait que l’invention a été réalisée dans le cadre de la mission du salarié détaché, la société d’origine accepte que cette cession soit à titre gratuit.
La gratification éventuellement due au salarié est réglée par la société d’origine, à charge pour celle-ci de refacturer l’indemnisation supplémentaire due au titre de l’invention à la société d’affectation."

Elsewhere in the contract, the host company is referred to as the "société utilisatrice" and not as the "société d'affectation". So my question is whether the "société d'origine" is the company from which the invention originates or the company providing the employee to the host company.

From the seconding employer’s perspective, the main pitfalls are to be found in selecting the secondee and filling the vacuum. In some cases the host employer will request a particular secondee, which simplifies matters if the request can be accommodated. If it is up to the seconding employer whom to send, care needs to be taken. Which employee will make the best impression? Who will manage to cope with the upheaval, flitting from one working environment to another and then back again? If you let them go, are you confident they will come back at all?
