peer agreement (net): +3childminder Explanation: From what you say it would appear that this is the profession of - well, who ? - the person making the declaration, one would suppose. I am not aware (looking at my 'livret de famille') that the profession of the parents is mentioned on a French birth certificate. But well... In the UK at least a "childminder" is by definition someone who cares for a child in his/her (the childminder's) own home see here: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/fr/dictionnaire/britannique/... Thus, the "à domicile" is in the job title. The mention "à domicile", is , I think, necessary in French to differentiate from an "assistante maternelle" who may work for example in a nursery school or day care centre .
