R&D Engineer

Explanation:
I suspect that this civil engineering company needs an R&D engineer to test the strength of new materials. This engineer is different from the BET (Bureau d'Etudes) engineer because he is not in charge of operations management.

A list of positions as Ingenieur de Laboratoire are listed in the link below. They mainly emphasize the following tasks: testing of equipment, testing of materials, and development of research projects likely to results in new patents. So I think that my translation is not off the mark.

neutral  writeaway: I think most of us know what R&D is. Can you show that this is the correct translation?

neutral  mchd: R&D ne correspond pas implicitement à un poste en laboratoire

neutral  Tony M: It would be relatively unusual to have an R&D engineer working on a building project.

agree  Tony M: Yes, particularly now we know it is a building project, as there are lots of things that are likely to need testing in a laboratory — not least, things like concrete!
