pratiquer de relations d\'amis based on nepotist practices Explanation: We can use use the correct word, which is poorly paraphrased in French. You are improving the sentence, it is a translator's decision. Otherwise it is "Garbage in, garbage out", which may be not good for your professional reputation. |

pratiquer de relations d'amis de conjoints (a company that) functions using spouses' friends Explanation: The source text is written by an employee who has not expressed him/herself that well. "Au sein d'elle" is pretty clumsy. As a translator, you can/should improve on the original, but you still have to remain faithful to the original. I reckon it would not be a good idea to use the term "nepotism" as it upgrades the register and is less faithful to the original. My suggestion is one among other possibilities of course, but I don't think it upgrades the register of the source. |

resorting to nepotism Explanation: Please view my earlier comments. This seems to be what I have understood, although the French style is rather poor. |
