Marketing - Internet, e-Commerce / perceived risk on online behaviour
French term or phrase: commerce en ligne
My sentence is as follows :

La vente de produits ou de services représente actuellement une source importante de revenus rapprochant ainsi le commerce en ligne du commerce traditionnel.

My question is : Would it not be better to talk about online shopping and traditional shopping as opposed to online commerce and traditional commerce ?

I've looked at a few articles on the internet and found quite a few references to shopping as opposed to commerce so I'm inclined to use the former.

What is the difference between the two words, if there is one ?

e-commerce
Explanation:
As the context relates to both products and services, and as it does not specify whether this is retail or business-to-business (b2b), I would be somewhat hesitant about referring to online shopping.

e-commerce is another option
which is less specific - any type of business activity that takes place on the internet
