does this simply mean that the entité is otherwise known as the acceptor? this would also explain why acceptor suddenly starts to appear in the remaining text !

I believe the notion of "personne physique" and "personne morale" that this phrasing in French seems to be alluding to does not exist in the same way in UK (or, probably, US) law.
