French term or phrase: période électorale
This is a companywide (international) satisfaction survey with several hundred questions. In several places in the source text, people refer to an election.

It doesn't make sense to me in the context of an ISP, so I thought I would ask if this is something I am just not getting. Here are two examples, in context:

..Une meileure réactivité et des supérieurs hiérarchiques présents, qui soient là quand les outils de publicaion ne fonctionnent pas, en pleine **période électorale**, et qui se déplacent même pendant leurs congés quand personne n'est sur place pour assurer le travail...

...aux deux soirées élections le site à planté...

Explanation:
in French we have just had the two rounds of the Presidential electtions and last Sunday had round 1 of the Municipals. When the election results start to come out, the gallop pollsters get busy predicting the ultimate outcome. This can overload the system causing it to crash (se planter)

So anyone conducting a survey during the election period with all the polls on the result going on would have got short shrift

agree  David Goward: except "Parliamentary elections" (not municipals). Couldn't it be that general public interest in the Pres.elections via t'Internet caused the ISPs servers to crash? I don't think it's anything to do with pollsters, Gallup or anyone else.
