This is from a document on a company offering to carry out surveys to find out clients' perceptions of another company's website and help reorganise the existing website to better meet client needs:

"XXX se propose d’apporter des réponses concrètes en matière d’offres de contenus éditoriaux et services online, mais aussi d’outils de recrutement, d’**animation** et de fidélisation tels que les webzines et les newsletters."

I know animation comes up lots in the glossaries, which is why I'm asking the question - I can't decide on which meaning of the term is correct here (note that 'animation' is in the singular, not 'plural').

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I think the plural 'activities' is required to translate the whole concept of 'animation' used in the singular.

This isn't really a suggested translation, more an explanation of the meaning, as I see it. I think 'animation' here means the process of making the website 'live' - by updating it, sending newsletters and so on. Now I just need to say that it one word...
