This also confirms that this is a double operation: assistance on the one hand and sales (purchases, in fact) on the other hand. See my 2nd post above.<p>I realise this is a translation (Sunuagrix appears to be Senegalese and I assume a French-speaking company). It appears to be adequate at least and it is unlikely that "technical assistance" would be used instead of "management".

That's absolutely fine, philgoddard, I'm happy to leave the discussion re: "framework" or not to native speakers. I must have been thinking of cadre de travail, which is what I believe is meant here: a contract whereby the organization commits to supporting (encadrer) these mango growers in their production activities by helping them in different ways. It looks from the title of the contract as if the production side is left to the growers (with the organization's encadrement) while the marketing is done by the organization, both of which are covered by the contract.

I find your explanation convincing, Ph_B, but that's not a framework contract, which is a contract governing other contracts. I agree that the idea may be "support", but I haven't found any references.

in the field of international development is about supervision and support: your organization helps those farmers with advice, guidelines, examples, by sending technicians out in the field, etc. It provides a frame (cadre) within which they can act safely. It doesn't manage them but helps them on the contrary to (learn to) manage themselves, to take charge, so that they become independent eventually. Hard to be more specific without more details but this is how NGOs and the like usually work in Africa, and elsewhere I assume. "Framework" is a possibility if the framework is defined elsewhere in the text.

https://www.proz.com/kudoz/french/marketing/513321-contrat-d... I think that you could rejig the sentence to: Sales Framework Agreement (or if not sales, whatever your choice is - distribution etc). encadrement is a framework. A framework agreement is a common term. Hope this helps.
