starting from the fact (or feature) in document A1, the invention is no longer obvious Explanation: This must be a patent document, arguing the allowability of an application - it has to contain an inventive step to be patentable. someone is starting out from a feature (a frequent term in patents for a characteristic, or fact) and having to take an inventive step to get to the features of the invention. Hope this helps - I'm a former examiner (british and euro offices) and now translator. |
