English translation:sealing off of the area
Explanation:
Sealing off of an area etc. means to isolate it so that no one accesses it or touches anything in/on it.

l'installation doit être consignée - the area must be sealed off

I guess area here could be anything from a piece of equipment to a physical area of the site where an accident happened?

Choice of term may well be determined by whether you are looking for UK (as here) or US English.

agree  Tony M: Yes, standard term, familiar to anyone with relevant technical knowledge; already in the glossary several times. The comments by MortonJones and Safetex below are dangerously INCORRECT!

neutral  Graeme Jones: Is it not lockdown you mean? White House reported as being in lockdown this a.m.

disagree  SafeTex: I was about to say "lockdown" too or "sealed off" but "lockout" is for industrial action

disagree  Tony M: Although 'consignation' may at times involve such physical barriers, this is not the meaning of the term per se, and in many contexts this would be misleading. This would be incorrect in Asker's context.
