faisceau de protection

English translation: Protective hose sleeve / guard / armour

French term or phrase: faisceau de protection
This is an item to be included in calculating the weight of equipment involved in a spray gun assembly for application of enamel finishes. It is also mentioned once later in the text:
"Les tuyaux nécessaires pour l’alimentation en air et en émail des pistolets devront être protégés par un faisceau."

My provisional translation of this is "protective harness". However, I also considered "protective loom", but I think "loom" is probably more appropriate to wiring than to hoses.

This question is really addressed to answerers with technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes. Guesses by people without such knowledge will not be helpful.

Explanation:

Protective hose sleeve (sleeving) / guard / armour / shield etc

" • Slips over 5/16” I.D. & 3/8” I.D. Air Hoses
* The narrow diameter of the “protective sleeve” fits closely to the circumference of the air hose for safe, easy maneuverability of the spray gun line

I imagine the "faisceau" to be a harness-type sleeve holding the hoses/tubes bundled together in parallel and, similar to a body harness, not completely enclosing the objects like a "fourreau" but simply holding them in place (sort of like split sleeving, hose wraps/spirals or the coil binding on A4 notebooks etc). The protection offered in this context could be prevention against snagging, tugging or kinking of the individual tubes/hoses.

Without a more detailed description or picture, it's hard to narrow down adjectives to describe the type of hose protection, be it a spring guard, abrasive sleeve or the type or material, steel, thermoplastic etc. (see http://www.sehose.com/accessories-services.html for reference). I believe faisceau primarily refers to keeping the hoses straight and bundled together.

Personally I would go for hose guard. (https://www.graco.com/content/dam/graco/tech_documents/manua...

Hose guard was the translation I used. However, your other ideas are also worth noting for future use.

Asker: Thanks Gareth. However, why would this be called a "faisceau", rather than a "fourreau"?

Asker: The idea of a "harness-type sleeve", as you describe it, certainly sounds likely. I am not altogether happy with simply translating it as a "sleeve". Would you suggest "harness-type sleeve" could be used as the translation?

protective harness (sleeve)

Explanation:
Normally, a sleeve would be sufficient.

Other translations (more frequent) provided by this link are:
beam (standard), bundle and cluster, what I do no consider in the given context, except for "bundle", even I cannot imagine how it would fit.

Normalement le terme "faisceau" désigne l’angle de jet pulvérisé. Le "faisceau de protection" dans le contexte pourrait donc ressembler à un entonnoir. Mais, malheureusement, on ne sait pas le matériel et l’exécution.

Asker: Thanks Johannes. Unfortunately, you have completely mistaken the context. This is not about cables, currents or electricity.
