French term or phrase: pôle supérieur du muscle carré
Hi,

This is the sentence from a minimally invasive posterior THA:
"Section en L des muscles pelvi-trochantériens en aval du bord inférieur du tendon piriforme et en s'arrêtant au pôle supérieur du muscle carré fémoral"

I am stumped by the "pôle supérieur."

I found this explanation for a similar surgical approach:
"An L-shaped incision of the capsule and external rotators is made that parallels the inferior border of the gluteus minimus, is carried to the piriformis fossa, then is turned distally to incise the external rotators from the greater trochanter ending at the proximal edge of the quadratus femoris." Does it mean the same in this case?

Thanks
