I'm pretty sure the 'global' here simply means the notion of "taken as a whole" — i.e. they are not looked at in individual detail. This would tie in with the 'synthetic' approach to the final results; this might possibly be an issue with typical concerns over anonymity, etc.

  -> Thanks, Joshua! Yes, depending on the wider context, that might be all it needs.
agree  Adrian MM.: works well if English NB is being used as a bridging or 'relay' lingo into Romanian e.g. 'în mod global'. Proz translators don't always spell this out, such as Norwegian > English > Spanish. Otherwise, 'taken as a whole' reflects my 'wholesale' favourite.
