This is part of a large clinical trial protocol on treatments for prostate cancer. I am drawing a blank on the correct medical term for this, while I certainly understand the various meanings of the word in other contexts (including "perennation" for botany, which does not seem right for here). The best I could do is "live", "long-lived", "vital", "enduring", or "durable" but they do not seem right to me.

This is the one paragraph in which it appears:

Les biopsies seront lues par un anatomopathologiste expérimenté en uro-pathologie. Sur le compte rendu sera noté la présence ou non de tissu prostatique vivace. En cas de tissu vivace, il sera spécifié la longueur de biopsie contenant ce tissu vivace et s’il s’agit de glandes bénignes ou malignes.
