French term or phrase: plaque porte-cliché

Manual for gold foil printing machine. I reproduce the spelling as is, although I suspect it should be plaque porte-cliché, pl. plaques porte-cliché.

The problem is that, in a printing context, the most common translation for cliché is "plate". But googling "plate-holding plate", "plate-bearing plate", etc. led nowhere. The expression itself "plaque porte-clichés" (avec guillemets) gets precisely 2 hits.
