Es geht um einen Politiker, der ein personalpolitisches Problem lösen muss und sich teilweise als Opfer sieht. Der Satz lautet wie folgt:

"Cest ca, la face obscure de mon engagement politique, c'est le prix que doit payer le parvenu que je suis pour avoir osé ***défier la lumière***"

Eine wörtliche Übersetzung, als in etwa "dem Licht trotzen" klingt irgendwie seltsam. Wer hat eine Idee?
