Reference: foto da catalogo Sotheby's Reference information: The original pair of bras de lumière by the bronzier-doreur Quentin-Claude Pitoin, circa 1771-1774, is currently in the Salon des Jeux du Roi at Fontainebleau. They were recorded in an inventory of 1787 as part of a series commissioned for Mme Du Barry and the comtesse de Provence in Compiègne. They were then sent to Paris, where Pitoin himself noted them in an inventory in the year IV of the Republic. They were subsequently placed at Versailles in 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-04-15 17:50:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Bras de lumière Applique fixée sur un support vertical, composée d'une ou plusieurs branches, destinée à porter les bougies.
