Sul dizionario monolingua francese Le Petit Robert (che non ti posso linkare perché ho l'edizione cartacea) viene dato come 2° possibile significato: "Abri ou ombre que donne le feuillage..." e viene citata una frase di Mauriac "Ils avaient pénétré sous le couvert des pins"
