Esta es la frase completa: Pensant bien faire, elle avait simplement dit la vérité. Yo había pensado en: "Pensando que hacía bien, simplemente dijo la verdad."
¿Qué os parece? ¿Se podría expresr mejor??

Explanation:
Prefiero poner "creer"; se trata de una convicción. "Pensar" tiene más connotaciones y aquí lo que interesa es que se vea claramente que se trata de "tener una opinión".

Tu respuesta no es incorrecta pero creo que la traducción exacta es : pensando hacer bien, en infinitivo, como está en el texto en francés...

Explanation:
I agree with Marlena. Creer, expresses conviction. Pensar expresses belief. In french both conviction and belief is expressed in 'pensant'
The person is implying that the 'telling the truth' would have had and unfortunate outcome, hence the first 'creer' in Spanish, even though the literal trans. might have been 'croyant'. Therefore 'Creer' is correct.
